Membership Q&A

Membership is open to any organization that's committed to making positive change through standards, from micro businesses to large multinationals. Our members typically use standards within their business, and come from all sectors of our economy.
BSI Membership is an annual paid subscription for organizations that use standards and want additional support, discounts and resources. There’s an annual fee, based on your country, sector and size. If you’re a sole trader or a small business owner, you can join at our lowest Membership rate. If your employer is a member, your whole team has full access to Member benefits and services, and your Membership Administrator can set this up for you.
No. Whilst both show your commitment to excellence and add credibility to your organisation, certification goes a step further to prove your conformity to a specific standard through a series of audits.
Membership fees vary by country, sector, and organization size. For a personalized quote, use the link below to send us your details — our team will be in touch.
Not directly, but members receive:

• 50% off British Standards, , including ISO standards adopted by BSI.

• 50% off a BSI Knowledge Subscription (for access to our library of standards).

• 50% off Compliance Navigator (for medical device manufacturers).

• 10% off ISO and other international standards not adopted by BSI.
Members can’t use the BSI logo, but we do provide a personalized Membership certificate and digital badge. These show your commitment to working to the highest standards. Contact us to request your certificate or badge.
BSI has two types of members:

Subscribing members use standards in their business and benefit from the services described on this page.

Committee members contribute expertise to the technical committees that develop standards. They may represent professional bodies, charities, public interest groups, or government.
